Region of Interest
Region of Interest (available from version 2.3.3)
Shadow Colour allows you to quickly define a Region of Interest directly in the preview image. The analysis will only be applied within this selected region when exporting results.
This is especially useful when you want to isolate specific areas for focused study—for example:
- Highlighting particular facades in a sun-hours analysis.
- Studying shadow-sensitive areas like parks, public spaces, and outdoor amenities.
- Evaluating targeted zones affected by shading elements.
- Analyzing landscaping areas intended for planting.

Note: The Region of Interest feature does not calculate area. To select a region for area calculation, please refer to the Area Calculation article.
To draw a Region of Interest:
1. Draw a Polygon:
Click the Polygon Tool and draw a polygon on the preview image by clicking to place points.

2. Finish the Polygon:
To complete the shape, either click the Polygon Tool again or press Esc, Enter, or Space on your keyboard.
You can draw multiple polygons—there is no limit.

3. Apply the Region of Interest:
Click the Apply button to activate the Region of Interest. Click it again to disable the region and return to full-scene analysis.

To delete a Region of Interest, select the polygon, then press Delete on your keyboard.
